BIO
Galen Wallace Clark (28) is a multi-faceted songwriter, musician, producer, and audio engineer born in Riverside California. Since age 10, Galen has been playing broad varieties of music in bands spanning genres from rock, traditional Appalachian, folk music of North America, hip hop, blues, jazz, metal, electronic, alternative, and more. Since graduating Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA in 2017, Galen moved to Brooklyn, NYC and released a 3 song electronic EP entitled Amnesia under the name of Wallace before moving to DMV area and releasing a debut album of entirely different material entitled, Providence. Later in 2017, upon moving back to Winchester, Galen formed a band called NANCY from 2018-2019, playing drums, recording, producing the groups debut record, and performing a few live shows shows. In September of 2020, after releasing a second record entitled, The Well, Galen built out a 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca featuring an entirely custom off the grid solar solution for mobile recording as well as a bed frame drawer slide system. Galen has been traveling the United States recording in serene, remote locations, collaborating with musicians, and enjoying ultra running.
From cafés in Copenhagen to bars in Brooklyn, Galen has performed original music in venues including Rockwood Music Hall, Arlene's Grocery, Pete's Candy Store, Captains Bar (Edinburg), The International (Dublin), The River House (WV), The Bright Box Theater (Winchester), hosted a music series at Escutcheon Brewing Company (Winchester VA), Noise (San Francisco), The Camel (RVA), Front Royal Brewing Co., Strange Matter (RVA, as well as Hardywood Brewery (RVA). Working as a Live Sound Engineer, Galen has been Front of House for the Bright Box Theater (Winchester), The Django (NYC), Pearl Street Warehouse (DC), as well as other internationally renowned venues/theaters. Through listening and working as an engineer with artists such as Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Booker T. Jones, Driftwood, and Cécile McLorin Salvant to state a few, Galen takes inspiration on the other side of the stage to a new direction.
